REC ● 1970 — PRESENT · NORTHEAST U.S.
Every tape in the
Northeast has a story.
Help create the story of skateboarding in the Northeast that has never been told — through historically significant photos, videos, spots and firsthand stories.
What we want
The people, spots, crews, shops and moments that shaped Northeast skateboarding — firsts, lasts, turning points and scenes that deserve to be remembered.
- Street
- Vert
- Park
- Archival
- Behind the scenes — vans, parking lots, arguments
- Landmark tricks, lost spots, pivotal sessions, parts and crew history
Rough, scratched and shaky is welcome. Quality is not the point; significance is. An everyday clip of someone learning is not enough by itself — unless that skater later became important to the scene or the clip preserves a bigger story.
No footage? Tell an important story on camera, send meaningful photos, flyers or scans, or write down the history while the people who lived it can still tell it.
Formats
Most of what we are after is old — tape that has already been transferred to digital files. Upload the transfer, tell us what it came from, and we will handle the rest.
